I trawled around the web to find a good web designer that doesn't cost the earth and was impressed by Legendary Web Design. Their work is pretty cool and they advertise special offers for business AND personal web sites.

They have a graphics site with backgrounds, templates, etc., for if you want to build your own site too. The Graphicalisationismist.

Email me with your Avatar requirements and any other details you think I'll need. I'll then contact you to discuss your Avatar and to let you know donation details, all $1.00 of it...!

(One thing to remember, don't link to avatars on this site. The files are renamed regularly.)

Something you could do if you like is to link to us from your own web site to give a little free advertising. It would be nice. All you have to do is copy the link directly below and paste it into your web page:

Chatroom Tips

When you're in a chatroom, you'll find many people can be impolite, pathetic or downright stupid. It just shows ignorance on their part.

The best way to avoid problems like this is simply, not to act like the idiots. Be polite if a person wants to talk and if you're occupied, politely refuse and smile *S*. You'll get more respect for this. Show a little class, it never hurt anyone after all, did it?

Don't give out your phone number or postal address. You don't know who you're talking to and it could be someone pretty nasty......

If you must give out your email address, do make sure it's untraceable webmail. Hotmail is a pretty good one to use. It only takes a few minutes to sign up for an account.

Don't give out your POP email address.

Remember, if you "post" photos, they can be traced back to your web site from any of the chatrooms in which you can see photos. It's then easy to access most of the folders on your site, look at your files and all your other photos. Even to find email addresses.

Email your pictures if you don't want people to access your web site folders.

Needless to say, if you use an avatar, it has to be loaded onto a web site somewhere or it won't show when you want it to. Get yourself a free site somewhere, Dreamwater, Yahoo/ Geocities, CityXXX or similar and load your avatar on to it. Then check to see if it loads to your favourite chatroom. Not all webspace providers do. Homestead does actually load, but I don't believe it's free now.

Beware of loading photos with very large file sizes. They slow chatrooms down too much and then you'll get complaints. Often, people won't want to talk to you either.

The HTML code needed to show your Avatar if you use the Chatropolis/Chatphoria.com, is just below. This section of code needs to go in the "Screen Name" section:

<center><img src="http://YOUR AVATAR URL.jpg"><br><br><font color="YOUR CHOICE OF COLOR WHICH MATCHES OR CONTRASTS WITH YOUR AVATAR"><b>

That's it. Your Avatar should now work fine.

If you want to post other pictures and don't want your Avatar to show each time you post it, go to the button FULL CONFIGURATION.
Inside you'll find a box at the top right. Delete the code in it and replace it with this code:

<font color="YOUR COLOR">YOUR NICKNAME</font>

When you want to change back again, go in to FULL CONFIGURATION and replace the short code with the original code.
